There are countless weird fascinating creatures in the world, many of which are still unknown to the general public. Here are seven weird creatures you may have never heard of before:
Okapi
This mammal is closely related to the giraffe, but has a more compact body and striped hindquarters. Okapi is a native of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Central Africa.

Red-lipped Batfish
Red- lipped batfish is found on the Galapagos Islands, this fish is really a beautiful, bad swimmer, and uses its pectoral blades to walk on the bottom of the sea.

Lamprey
Lamprey are migratory fish, moving between fresh and saltwater to complete their lifecycle. The lamprey lifecycle is particularly different to New Zealand’s other migratory freshwater fish.

Star-Nosed Mole
The star-nosed mole ( Condylura cristata) is a small mole found in moist, low areas in the northern parts of North America.

Blob Fish
Blobfish look nearly unrecognizable underwater: These tadpole-shaped fish have bulbous heads, large jaws, tapered tails, and feathery pectoral fins. Instead of scales, they have loose, flabby skin.

Lowland Streaked Tenrec
Lowland streaked tenrecs are small insectivorous mammals from Madagascar. Their snouts are long and pointed, while the coat shows spines. They are recognized by two fundamental highlights: the first is a rather long, black-colored nose and the other feature is a black-colored coat, showing yellow stripes and bright yellow spine peaks, found over the best of their head and acts as a cruel of self-defense against predators.

Glaucus Atlanticus
The mythical Blue Glaucus, or Glaucus atlanticus as known by its scientific name, is a small-sized blue sea slug species. The Blue Glaucus’ striking appearance makes it easy to recognize, in spite of the fact that it’s nearly impossible to identify in its normal environment. These colors have also propelled a series of nicknames, such as blue dragon, sea swallow, and blue angel.

These animals may not be well-known, they seem to be weird creatures and fascinating in their own unique ways. It is important to protect and conserve these and other lesser-known species, as they are vital to the ecosystems in which they live.
